Dennett, a philosopher, uses Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection to give new insights into morality, religion, biology and everything else. He is not afraid of controversy. Stephen Jay Gould attracts his ire, as does Noam Chomsky.


But he writes about important issues, and he writes well. It is not easy reading, lots of cogitation is required, but it is rewarded.


And it includes instructions on how to unscramble eggs. Feed them to a chicken!. Scrambled eggs in; whole eggs out. Simple when you think about it.
